If
Hatred Can Manifest Terror, Then Love Can Manifest Peace
by Dr. Trish Whynot
Let us honor those who have died by making a promise to heal our
own inner wounds. Let
us promise to heal the anger and pain that we harbor within ourselves.
It is only when we can replace our
anger and pain with love for Self and others that we have hope for peace.
This
horrific event that has affected us all is a manifestation from our
collective unconscious. It is
a wake-up call. We all have
our own personal terrorist. A
terrorist creates a field of terror.
Our terrorists, personal or global, take away our freedom, control
us, and cause us to act out of fear rather than out of love. A terrorist
is a coward; it doesn’t take responsibility for its actions.
It is time to address your terrorist.
Look to the part of you that is self-righteous, or the martyr,
perhaps the part that feels entitled or misunderstood, maybe the
chauvinist or the bully in you. The
terrorist in each and every one of us has contributed to this event and we
all have a responsibility to go inward to do some healing, we have a
responsibility to move through our fears and to make peace within
ourselves.
Let
us allow those who have lost their lives, to live on in our hearts as our
inspiration to act out of love rather than out of fear. Let them be
our inspiration to pay attention to our
intentions. Let us turn this event into an opportunity for
global healing. Let them be
our heroes.
Let
us put our old rusty tools of war and revenge from the 20th
Century to rest and find new tools that can work to heal our nation and
ultimately the world in this new millennium.
We have shown that we can come together as a nation in crisis.
Now, let us have the opportunity to show that we can come together as a
nation in peace.
