The Benefits of Energy Healing NEW!
by Wendy De Rosa
Today, in our advanced, modern society, people take time to perform some
kind of daily physical cleansing ritual. A shower or bath, teeth brushing,
shaving and hair styling are all standard forms of grooming that we make
time to fit into our busy lifestyles. After all, it’s good hygiene,
right? Our outward appearance is something most of us take pride in,
but what about what’s going on beneath the layers of the skin?
Remembering high school anatomy we know about the muscles, organs, bones,
cells, molecules and atoms. Atoms are made up of particles containing
protons, electrons and neutrons that carry electrical charges resulting in
energy. This energetic field is the unseen, but very much felt, spiritual
anatomy of our body. Just as we sense with our eyes, ears and nose, we
also sense through our energetic body. Yet, we may not be aware that the
energetic body needs just as much cleansing as the rest of our body. Here
are some thoughts to consider: Our bodies have their own energy and they
can soak up the energies all around us. We can at times act just like a
sponge. These energies can be made up of various things such as other
people’s emotions, traffic noise, or contagious laughter. This energy
absorbing happens when there is a matching frequency within us.
Cells in our body send out a frequency and attract to it a similar
frequency. This can be a good thing if it is contagious laughter or loving
emotion, or not such a good thing if it is traffic noise or unhealthy
emotion. If there is an unhealthy belief we carry in ourselves, our cells
or our energy will keep drawing to us the same matching energy frequency
until the belief is changed.

____________________ Power Reiki
by David Murphy, N.D.,
Ph.D. and Rosario Murphy, Ph.D., CHT
The human body is sustained by life force energy. This energy appears to
travel through Meridian pathways inside the physical body and feed all the
main organs, glands and ultimately every muscle, nerve, tissue and cell.
We are all about energy. Energy goes by many different names but it
remains the universal life-force sea in which we exist and of which we are
a part. In Japan it is called Ki, in India the life-force energy is called
prana. It’s Qi (Chi) in China.

How
to Make Your Home a Healing Haven
by Karlo Berger
How our households tend to accumulate junk is a sad indicator of the
health of our society. Instead of acting as a receptacle for
ever-increasing material goods, we deserve to have homes be our healing
havens, where they can feel restored, where visitors can feel at peace,
and where people can just be. Here are some simple ways to make your home
the healing haven it deserves to be:

The
Effectiveness Of Distance Reiki
by
Keith Zang
Reiki is a form of
energetic hands-on healing that originated in Japan. Most people know and
understand Reiki as an “in-person” form of treatment, treating
everything from stress to helping to speed healing after surgery. It is
increasingly being utilized in hospitals throughout the world and Reiki
volunteer programs are becoming recognized as viable accompaniment
programs with traditional western therapies. But what many people don’t
realize or have much faith in is the ability of Reiki practitioners to
send Reiki energy to anyone, anywhere in the world and get great results
doing so.

by Ronnie
Allen, Ph.D.
On November 14, 2000, the universe threw me a curve that I am sure is
going to change my life forever. At 7 P.M. I took my son David and, Lisa,
his girlfriend to a brand new buffet style restaurant. The food was
inedible, spoiled and cold and everything was sent back. We then came home
where I saw clients and prepared to go to work the next day. Nothing
unusual.
At 1:30 a.m. I awoke from a deep sleep as my airways constricted. I
anxiously told my husband, Bob, to call 911. I immediately fell
unconscious.

Healing Benefits Of A Massage Alternative Put To The Test... Results
Surprisingly Positive!
by Bob Olson, OfSpirit.com Editor
You’d think the editor of a holistic magazine would be knowledgeable
about things like shiatsu, reiki or polarity, but nobody can really
understand something until they have personally experienced it. Now that
I’ve experienced a bodywork session that utilized all three of these
modalities, I’m unexpectedly hooked. All my previous misconceptions have
been shamefully proven wrong, and I now understand why people are using
their lunch hours to relax and rebalance with an energy bodywork session.

____________________ Reiki: Working With Intuition
by Taggart King
When I first started practicing Reiki, I
didn't believe that I was intuitive. In fact, I thought that I might only
be able to become intuitive after years of dedicated practice, if then. I
thought that maybe intuition was only for the gifted few, or if it did
arrive for me then it would flash into my head, gone in an instant, and I
would not know how to get it back again.

Simplicity and Sandwiches
by Taggart King
In the West, there seems to be this
insidious tendency to make things unnecessarily complicated, almost on the
basis that if it's more complicated, it is better. We have to take things
and make them bigger and better, we have to add stuff. In Japan, of
course, they seem to go in the opposite direction, paring things down to
the bone, getting rid of any unnecessary frills and flounces, leaving us
with the pure essence of a thing, simple and elegant. Think of Japanese
garden design, flower arranging, the tea ceremony, and you will see what I
mean. This contrast can be seen in the practices of Western Reiki and
original Japanese Reiki.

The Importance Of Intent
by Taggart King
A wise friend of mine once said to me that "where thought goes,
energy flows" and I think that this principle applies very well to
Reiki. Some of us have been taught in quite a rigid way, learning that we
must always follow a particular prescription to achieve a desired effect,
whether this be a set form of words, a collection of symbols, or a
complicated ritual. That's fine: we can choose to do that if we like, but
I believe that underlying our form of words, our rituals and our symbols
is an important and powerful driving force: our intention. I believe that
we can move beyond the details, the constructed systems, to access that
simple, profound and powerful controlling force. Whatever we do, when we
do Reiki, we control the energy using our intention.

____________________ The Power Of Reiki
by Donna Patrican
Reiki is a Japanese word which loosely
translates to mean the transfer of universal energy. This transfer can be
to another person, animal, plant, situation or even to oneself.
Traditional Reiki healing originated in Japan approximately two centuries
ago, after Dr. Mikao Usui rediscovered the ancient formulas in Buddhist
Sanskrit scriptures for this hands-on healing art...

Reiki Initiations
by Anja Heij
An initiation is a willed and permanent change in energy and
consciousness, guided and started through a ritual. You may regard it as
taking another step forward on the ladder of your life, or as taking off
one of the many veils over your body of light. Energetically spoken an
initiation is equal to the removal of certain energy blocks. It is an
important steppingstone in your personal development.

Therapeutic Touch For Everyday Healing
by Mary Kirby, LMHC
I first learned how to do therapeutic touch with a wonderful group of
women who met together weekly for support around issues of loss, grief,
trauma and relationships. Not an unusual group in many ways, except that
the facilitator taught us all to do therapeutic touch. At the time (six
years ago), I thought this was a novel thing to do in a support group.
Only a few short years later I understood that not only did the experience
of learning a healing modality bring us closer together as a group, but it
gave us the gift of realizing that we are all beings of light and energy,
and that we could bring about everyday healing experiences in ourselves
and those we love through gently "touching" the energy field.

Reiki In A Nutshell
Reiki (pronounced ray-key) is based on
activating the universal (rei) life force energy (ki) to heal the body,
mind and spirit using a hands-on approach—although no actual physical
contact is necessary (allowing for long-distance healing as well). The
trained practitioner administers Reiki by balancing the universal life
energy within the chakras (energy centers) to restore health by restoring
balance and harmony within the body’s energy flow.

The "CSFT"
Vitalistic Healing Model
by Dr. Don Glassey
The principle of vitalism is based on the
holistic concept that the human body is greater than the sum of its parts.
Its basic assumption is that there is an intelligent force, which creates
and sustains all living organisms. This inherent vital principle is
distinct from all internal physical and chemical forces.
Vitalism assumes that life is
self-determining and self-evolving. The basic principle of vitalism is
that is an inherent or in-born intelligence within the body, which
animates, motivates, heals, coordinates and inspires living beings. This
Wisdom Within guides and directs the life of each individual on his or her
path of healing.

The
Unlimited Nature Of Reiki (Ray–Key)
by Reiki Master Teacher Audrey Pearson (IARP)
Whereas this
is not an article on menopause, I am a 54 year old baby crone and I am
embracing the “change.” I heard all the stories of the over-the-hill
old hag, and like most other girls of my day, I did not look forward to
getting old. The first year of my
change was a breeze. This menopause
stuff was not nearly as disruptive as they said it was.
This is my second year and whew!
The hot flashes and night sweats really do happen with a vengeance.
Thankfully I am a Reiki practitioner and there is nothing that I
love more than Reiki. It represents
Mother, Father, and All That Is for me. By
that I mean, that where I once used to pray whenever I was in the midst of
“growth,” I now treat myself to a self-healing with Reiki.
Now ladies, when those hot flashes come and the night sweats pour,
and the energy is indeed going through a change, Reiki balances it all
out. And that’s a fact! Now I am
going to try to explain Reiki as I experience it...

How To Receive Bodywork
by Carol Bedrosian
Although there are as many different kinds
of bodywork as there are cold remedies on the drug store shelf, some basic
information on receiving bodywork in general can be helpful. Since most of
us grew up with the "sickness" model of healthcare—-we only
visited the doctor when we were sick and therefore under stress and not
feeling up to our fullest capacity—our experience in caring for our
health has been a disempowering and mystifying one.

Reiki: Ideologies,
Treatment, Training & Course Description

Reiki, which is more accurately called the
"Usui System of Natural Healing", is a Japanese form of stress
reduction and relaxation with many benefits. It is a hands on healing
technique thousands of years old. Reiki can be defined as spiritually
guided life force energy with intelligence. This means that Reiki is
guiding itself with its own wisdom.

Reiki: A Transformation
Process
By Guruatma S. Khalsa
Reiki is a
Japanese word which describes a system of hands-on healing said to be used
by both Christ and the Buddha. This system was rediscovered in the
late 19th century by a Japanese monk named Dr. Mikao Usui, after 27 years
of search, research and Soul search. To understand the word Reiki,
one needs to consider its two parts: rei and ki. Rei
means universal and ki is the life force energy. To
experience this specific kind of universal life force energy, one may
receive a session from a Reiki practitioner, or become a practitioner
oneself, doing self treatments and/or treating others.

Energy - The River Of
Life
by Dr. Rita Louise We are each filled with universal life
force energy. It is the essence of our being, our consciousness, our
soul. As the flow of life force energy moves through the physical,
emotional, and spiritual bodies, it can become imbalanced, stagnant, or
blocked. We experience what is called dis-ease. Disease, as
the term suggests, is lack of ease. It is the inability of one's
life force energy to flow freely.

Breathing In Life
by Anja Heij
"And God formed figures
from clay, blowed on them to breathe in life, and they became men."
This biblical story highly puzzled me when I was a child; I did not
understand how grown-ups seriously could believe such a thing. It surely
wouldn't work with the clay dolls I made…
