Using Flower Essences With Animals

Does your dog get carsick? Are you are about to integrate a new cat into your animal family? Does your dog have separation anxiety? Is your new bird grieving its lost loved one who had to go into a nursing home? Is one of your animals behaving aggressively? These and many other situations may be helped by using flower essences. Choosing the right flower remedies for a particular individual and situation requires knowing what the animals are feeling. With the assistance of an Animal Communicator, this can readily be discovered.
Flower essences are the electrical energy patterns of individual flowers in a liquid form. These patterns help the bio-electrical systems of the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual bodies correct their vibrational pattern by providing the the flower's energy pattern as a model. Each flower has a unique pattern and therefore can help the restore specific balances.
If an inappropriate essence is given, no harm is done, since the body ignores a pattern to which it is already aligned. However, the unwanted behavior or emotion will continue. When the appropriate essence is given, the body will adjust its vibrational pattern. As a result, not only may an animal's emotional state and behaviors change, but sometimes even physical illnesses will resolve.
In an Animal Communication session, I may ask the human client about their familiarity with flower essences. Often the person will reply, "Oh, yes, and I tried Rescue Remedy, but it didn't work." (Rescue Remedy is a well known Bach formula primarily helpful in stressful or traumatic situations.) At this point, I explain how choosing the exact right essence combination for their animal and for the situation is likely to make a difference. Also, the amount of essence given and the frequency with which it is given will influence the effectiveness of the formula.
One client had six cats and had rescued a seventh, a female with kittens, who was kept separately until the kittens all left for new homes. My client wanted to keep the mother cat in her own family. When she tried to integrate the mother using Rescue Remedy, the cats fought and there was chaos in the house.
There is a hierarchy of dominance among felines living together in a group. A new cat is going to seek his or her place, potentially causing a shifting about of everyone's position in the group dynamic. In this case, the mother cat had been a survivor outside and was fairly dominant. By speaking telepathically with her, I learned that she was unwilling to come into the group at the bottom of the pecking order. The currently dominant cat in the family group wasn't about to give up her position. The other five cats had their various relationships and ranks, and everyone was upset about making the necessary adjustments.
First, I explained to each feline what was going on and why the person wanted to keep the new cat. I also gathered information about how each cat felt about the new one and about their individual willingness to allow an integration to occur. I talked to the new cat to get her perspective as well. We brainstormed for solutions that might help smooth out the process
Then I choose flower essences for the group and for specific individuals. While continuing to use Rescue Remedy, I added Walnut to help each cat cope with a major life change; Quaking Grass, to help each cat's vibrations find harmony and flexibility in the group's energy; Chicory for the one cat who tended to be jealous and manipulative; and Tiger Lily to reduce aggressive behavior during the shift. In addition, I suggested that the client mist the house twice a day with some Rescue Remedy diluted in water, creating a calming atmosphere. The human agreed not to behave in ways that seemed to favor the new cat.
The cats began to settle down quickly once they were on the essences. Over a period of months, the new cat was integrated without anyone getting hurt.
Flower essences start working immediately, yet work gradually and gently. Sometimes behaviors seem to change very fast, but it is important to continue giving the essences for several months to make sure the transformation is sustained. Flower essences will not change someone's personality, although they can take the edge off of an extreme behavior.
One interesting case was that of an Abyssinian male cat who told me he believed he was "a God" and who was beating up on the female cat in the family, a Domestic Short Hair, because he felt she didn't worship him appropriately. His person was astonished by his attitude, and wanted to know if he felt that she and her husband worshiped him. He was certain that they did because he sensed their thoughts that he was beautiful, and they fed him and petted him as much as he wanted. The female cat in this situation was a very sweet personality, but not very self-assured or confident, especially as the male would swat her every time she walked past him in the hall and everywhere else.
Because flower essences won't change a personality, I wasn't certain whether they would help in this situation. However, it was worth a try, especially as the male was completely unwilling to consider any perspectives other than his own.
For the male cat I chose Vine, for being domineering, inflexible, and a bully, combined with Beech, for intolerance, and Tiger Lily, for aggression. For the female I chose Larch, to build self-confidence, combined with Centaury, for allowing oneself to be bullied. The goal was for the female to feel she did not have to run madly past the male cat to avoid being hit by him and for the male cat to stop striking out at the female. The situation resolved quickly because the right flower essences were used. The male cat did not have to give up his dominant attitude or his beliefs. He just had to be more accepting of the female, who had to develop a braver attitude to help her stand up to him without eliciting aggression on his part. It was a delicate balance that the essences helped to achieve.
Flower essences can be used with most types of animals including cats, dogs, rabbits, horses, and even birds. They are non-invasive and can be used with prescribed medications without causing problems. If you are having a behavioral or emotional problem with an animal and you would like to try a holistic approach, you might consider using flower essences. With the assistance of an Animal Communicator, you are more likely to hit on just the right combination, with the added benefit of understanding your animals' perspectives while often enlisting their commitment to achieve the desired results.
