Coconut
Oil: A Miracle Food NEW!
by Bruce Fife, ND
The quality of the food we eat has an
enormous impact on our state of health. The healthier our foods are, the
healthier we are. For this reason, it is important that we eat the foods
that provide the most benefit. Some foods are good because they are loaded
with vitamins and minerals as well as fiber. A few are classified as
functional foods because they provide health benefits beyond their
nutritional content. These foods have therapeutic value that can protect
us from many common health problems.
One such food is so powerful that I have
seen it clear up flu symptoms almost overnight, stop bladder infections,
remove precancerous skin lesions, bring quick relief from Crohn’s
disease, heal chronic psoriasis, and improve symptoms associated with
hypoglycemia, diabetes, hypothyroidism, and chronic fatigue, among others.
Medical researchers are now using it in the fight against AIDS.

____________________ The Healing Power of Your Next Meal
by Charles Remington
Early man has known that his Creator has made provision for healing dating
back five thousand years ago. The first recorded writings of Indian
culture called The Veda's document, man's knowledge of healing through
nutrition. Bible scriptures from thirty-five hundred years ago show man
divinely inspired to write, "God would bless his food and water and
take sickness from among them" (Exodus 23:25). As a nutritionist, I
have witnessed thousands of patients be restored to health from disorders
ranging from gastric disturbances, intestinal conditions, type II
diabetes, hypertension, obesity and more through proper nutrition. By
developing a healthy nutritional lifestyle, we can bring balance and
harmony back to our human existence and it can begin with the next meal
you eat.

____________________ Eco-Technologies-- In
Harmony with Nature
by Christan Hummel
Energy shortages, power crises, petro-chemical pollutants, ozone
depletion, hazardous waste, nuclear radiation, bioengineered crops - these
are all the nightmares of a technological world raging forward against
natural laws. In the midst of this technological onslaught, we have become
conditioned to believe that technology is the inherently evil nemesis of
nature forever destined to be Yin and Yang at incompatible odds with one
another. Our modern society perpetuates this belief that one must be
sacrificed for the other. This belief has left available only the illusory
options of either abandoning the "urban" life for huts in the
forest, and cots in the ashram, or supporting a society which plunders
natural resources to sustain the modern lifestyle of our unabated modern
day consumerism.

Seven Simple Brain Promoting Nutritional Tips
by Daniel G. Amen, M.D.
Here is the seven step plan to get your diet under control and to use food
as brain medicine.
1. Increase water intake
Given that your brain is about 80% water, the first rule of brain
nutrition is adequate water to hydrate your brain. Even slight dehydration
can raise stress hormones which can damage your brain over time. Drink at
least 84 ounces of water a day. It is best to have your liquids unpolluted
with artificial sweeteners, sugar, caffeine, or alcohol. You can use
herbal, non-caffeinated tea bags, such as raspberry or strawberry
flavored, and make unsweetened iced tea. Green tea is also good for brain
function as it contains chemicals that enhance mental relaxation and
alertness.

Coming Clean: The Truth About Soap
by Chere Deshayes
What Is Soap?
Soap is the oldest cleanser around. It is created by a chemical
reaction between oils, water and lye. Although lye is used to make soap
there is no lye left after saponification (the chemical reaction that
makes soap) is complete. There is no such thing as a bar of soap that was
made without the use of lye. Different kinds of soap are made using a
variety of different oils. Both animal and plant oils can be used in the
soap making process, each adding different qualities to the soap.

Divine Food For Divine Beauty
by Tonya Zavasta
The phrase "natural beauty" has been abused and misused beyond
restoration. The modern use is almost never associated with its true
meaning. Someone said there should be a portrait of a healthy person in a
museum so people would know what they are talking about. If we don’t
know what a healthy person looks like, how do we know what natural beauty
is?

Ecology: The Nutritional Foundation for a Living Body and Earth
by The Living
Ecology Research Institute
True solutions to any problem can never be
attained until the actual cause of a problem is understood. Living Ecology
is the system that life on Earth utilizes to manifest and maintain itself.
Disease is a direct result of not recognizing our position within the
natural Living Ecology of Earth and is a direct reflection of how we treat
the Earth through our diet and lifestyle choices. We are part of the
Eco-system, not the creator of it. The more we bring our diets, thoughts
and actions within the guidelines of supporting the natural Living Ecology
of life, both within our bodies and in our environments, the greater our
health and happiness on Earth will become.

Diets: Are You Losing More Than Weight?
by Monique N. Gilbert
Protein is a vital nutrient, essential to your health. In its purest
form, protein consists of chains of amino acids. There are 22 amino
acids that combine to form different proteins, and 8 of these must come
from the foods we eat. Our body uses these amino acids to create
muscles, blood, skin, hair, nails and internal organs. Proteins help
replace and form new tissue, transports oxygen and nutrients in our
blood and cells, regulates the balance of water and acids, and is needed
to make antibodies. However, too much of a good thing may not be so good
for you. Many people are putting their health at risk by eating to much
protein. Excessive protein consumption, particularly animal protein, can
result in heart disease, stroke, osteoporosis, and kidney stones. As
important as protein is for our body, there are many misconceptions
about how much we really need in our diet, and the best way to obtain
it.

Choosing Brands of Herbs & Vitamins

explain what the difference is between all the different brands of
vitamins and herbs on the market?

different nutrients in the soil, as well as different levels of toxins.
They can be grown organically or with chemical pesticides and fertilizers.
If they are imported herbs they may go through irradiation and gassing to

The Healing
Power Of Soy's Isoflavones
by Monique N. Gilbert
Numerous reports indicate that, because soy is high in isoflavones, it can
prevent illness and promote good health. Isoflavones are a class of
phytochemicals, which are compounds found only in plants (phyto means
plant). They are also a type of phytoestrogen, or plant hormone, that
resembles human estrogen in chemical structure yet are weaker. By
mimicking human estrogen at certain sites in the body, isoflavones provide
many health benefits that help you to avoid disease. Isoflavones are found
in soybeans, chick peas and other legumes. However, soybeans are unique
because they have the highest concentration of these powerful compounds.
Soy contains many individual isoflavones, but the most beneficial are
genistein and daidzein.

Be Young
And Healthy By Building Strong Bones
by Monique N. Gilbert
Bones are the body's foundation. Having strong dense bones is essential to
good posture, strength and balance. The quality of our skeletal structure
has a direct impact on our appearance, vitality and energy level. The
better we stand, walk and move around, the more youthful we will look and
feel. Building and maintaining strong healthy bones is a lifelong
concern because our bones are living tissue in a constant state of
renewal. Most people believe thin weak bones are an inevitable part of
aging. However, research is showing this may not be the case. Bone
loss and osteoporosis can be prevented and possibly reversed with proper
diet and lifestyle. Two of the easiest ways to achieve this is by eating
more soy-based calcium rich foods and including weight-bearing activities
in our daily routine.

____________________ Get Fabulously Fit With Fiber
by Monique N. Gilbert
Want to increase your vitality and improve
your overall well-being? Then try eating more fiber every day. According
to the American Heart Association (AHA), fiber is important for the health
of our digestive system as well as for lowering cholesterol. Dietary fiber
is a transparent solid carbohydrate that is the main part of the cell
walls of plants. It has two forms: soluble and insoluble. Soluble fiber
may help lower blood cholesterol and reduce the risk of heart disease and
stroke. Insoluble fiber provides the bulk needed for proper functioning of
the stomach and intestines. It promotes healthy intestinal action and
prevents constipation by moving bodily waste through the digestive tract
faster, so harmful substances don't have as much contact with the
intestinal walls. Both the AHA and the National Cancer Institute recommend
that we consume 25 to 30 grams of fiber a day.

Fight
Heart Disease And Cancer With Soy Antioxidants
by Monique N. Gilbert
Antioxidants
are compounds that prevent or repair damage to cells caused by pollution,
sunlight, and normal body processes. These elements cause oxidation in our
body, which produce dangerous chemical compounds called free radicals.
These compounds are highly reactive and have the potential to damage DNA,
causing mutations that can result in the malignant transformation of
cells. Free radicals can easily cause harm to the immune system, whose
cells divide often. They may also be responsible for some of the changes
of aging.
