Release And Let Go

All of us become angry and upset during the day. Certain situations almost lend themselves to hostility, resentment and emotional upset. Holding anger, fear and hatred can be a very dangerous thing to do.

There are ways of identifying this and correcting it before any damage is done. It's okay to feel the experience, and learn from it. Then you must release it and let it go.

Feelings are a natural response to the situations in your life. You are allowed to be angry about someone pulling their car out in front of you. But when you let that anger build up in you, then it becomes emotional. You aren't able to think about it rationally and soon  you start judging that person, making rude remarks and adding negativity to it. Now your feelings have gone out of control and you have become emotional.

This begins to control you---mentally, spiritually, and ultimately physically. This brings about a situation where your emotions are ruling your mind, body and spirit. The mind is not able to make rational decisions, the body may become sick due to dis-ease, and the spirit actually is suppressed by muddy auras and unaligned chakras.

After many years of this abuse of human feelings, your body, mind and spirit suffer greatly.  You must tend to the physical by activating holistic practices. The mind has trouble functioning and needs psychological self-help groups to muddle through to the root causes and the spirit needs much body work to rectify all the damage. There is a much better solution: prevention.

The best way to deal with any negative problem is to let the situation just go on by. If you let it build up, then your emotions get in the way and you don't act anymore but you re-act. That's losing control and gives your power to the emotion.

There is a way you can prevent emotions from ruling you. It's called Emotional Cleansing and it can be facilitated by creative visualization. Through this technique you can eventually learn to eliminate negative emotions from your life.

Relax and close your eyes. Imagine you are standing next to a train track. Think of a movie on the side of the train, coming down the track. It's a movie about something happy in your life. The movie is about a nice walk on a fall day in the country. You hear the leaves crunch under your feet, smell the sweet crisp air and see all the colorful trees. How do you feel? --Content?--Happy? --Good? Keep that feeling for a minute and experience it, really experience it. What do you learn from It? Appreciation for Mother Nauture? Learning how to communicate with your senses? Knowing the benefits of taking a break from other things?

Now release that movie and its feelings. Let it go on past you down the train track. You are in control of your mind, body and spirit. Unfortunately, this positive feeling is easy to let go of because we generally hold on to fear, anger and mistrust, rather than contentment and joy.

Now imagine another movie coming down the train track. It's about the guy in the car that pulled out in front of you. What do you feel? --Surprise? --Shock? --Fear? --Anger? Feel these feelings for a minute, really experiencing them. What have you learned from them? The man wasn't paying attention? You weren't paying attention? Maybe the man was upset about something.  Maybe the brakes failed on his car. Now release the movie and let it go on down the train track. If you hold onto that anger and fear, you start to put judgment and blame on it. You will only lose control of your body, mind and spirit. You CAN let go. You don't have to lose control of emotions.

The best time to do this exercise is just as the situation happens but if your day is too busy and hectic then be sure to take 10 minutes at the end of the day to practice the exercise. Do the Emotional Cleansing Technique with all honesty. Go through the entire day's events and clear all emotional upset from them. The major result of this will be that you will take control of your life again and your mind, body and spirit will find new life and vigor.

There are many other techniques and exercises that can be used for letting go of the emotional blanket that covers your true self but this Emotional Cleansing Technique is one that you can use immediately as the situation occurs.
