You
and Your Colon: Dumping The Trash
by Linda Richardson, Nurse
/ Herbalist
During the many years of my medical career, I have seen so many people
with health problems that were caused by a toxic colon. I am a firm
believer of detoxification. We carry 7-25% of fecal matter at all times in
our colon.
The heavy metal toxins in the body are a
result of environmental contamination from industry. For example, last
year alone in the US lead from industrial sources and leaded petroleum
contributed more than 600,000 tons of lead to the atmosphere to be
inhaled, on or after, being deposited on food crops and in fresh water and
soil to be ingested. Common sources of heavy metals are lead from the
solder in tin cans, pesticide sprays, cooking utensils, cadmium and lead
from cigarette smoke, mercury from dental fillings, contaminated fish,
cosmetics and aluminum from antacids, cookware and many more. Because of
this and our western diets we are not eliminating as properly as we should.
Oh yes, I have heard the old saying over and over
again, that your doctor told you it was normal for you to go 3-4 days
without a bowel movement. This is simply not true.
Remember when New York City's garbage
collectors went on strike? Garbage piled up everywhere. The stench of the
city was horrendous. What happens when you consume five pounds of food but
only put out one pound of waste? Where does this garbage in our bodies go?
Which part of our body is used for dumping the trash? We need to promote a
healthy digestive system and cleanse our colon regularly.
Aloe Vera is a wonderful herb that is well known for
its ability to soothe the skin and heal burns. It is also wonderful to
relieve constipation, acid stomach, gastritis, hiatal hernia, ulcers and
is especially helpful for piles and hemorrhoids. Also, the combination of
senna, buckthorn, peppermint, orange peel, rose hips, honeysuckle and
chamomile is a formula that is found in Nature's Tea.
This improves the digestive system, helps
reduce water retention and, most important, cleanses the colon by helping
the body eliminate excess fat and body waste. You will discover these
herbs will promise healing, safely and naturally.
