Fighting
The Common Cold With The Herbal Approach
by Linda Richardson, Nurse / Herbalist
It is that time of year
again when we are faced with the most frequent persistent ailment called
the cold. It is followed closely by it's cousin, the flu. The aches and
pains, congestion and coughing that accompany these two all-too-prevalent
health pests can bring your energy levels down, attack your immune system
and make it weak, and interrupt your daily routine. Many people are now
discovering the benefits of treating their cold and flu symptoms with
natural herbs, rather than over-the-counter medications.
Herbs such as Echinacea and Goldenseal have been scientifically shown
to relieve the symptoms and duration of the cold and flu. Also Zinc and
Echinacea spray works quickly through liposome technology that nourishes
and strengthens the immune system, along with white willow and licorice
for soothing qualities.
There are certain things that can help keep your immune system
stay strong and get rid of your cold or flu symptoms:
1. Make sure you drink plenty of filtered water.
2. Drink plenty of juices rich in Vitamin C.
3. Get plenty of rest.
4. Don't forget to take your herbal medicine.
