Psychic Medium Laura Scott (Issue #5)
by Laura Scott
I want to pray or program for the safety
and health of the people of Iraq and our own armed forces, but I feel I
might be wasting my energy. War of any kind pains me. Is it
fruitful to pray for an entire people, or is the energy dissipated because
it is too vast a request?
Many people have been reaching out to me
since the war began and are looking for answers and direction. Whenever
it's possible, please limit the amount of news you are listening to each
day (this is good advice for ALL times). While it is important
to be informed, it is also important not to overwhelm yourself and
jeopardize your health and well-being. If you would like to do
something, but don't know exactly what, then pray! Did you know that
science today now supports the power of prayer with several ground
breaking studies? The results have been unanimous...prayer works!
No matter what your affiliation or indoctrination. No matter whether
you do it on the way to the gym, or by sitting in a church, or on a mat in
the full lotus position. It works! If the pharmaceutical
companies could figure out a way to put the power of prayer into a pill,
they'd have a cure for everything! If you want to learn more about
the power of prayer and the ground breaking studies being done around the
globe, check out the work of Dr. Larry Dossey, for starters.
The Universe receives all prayer requests with equal reverence and
solemnity. From the person praying for their beloved ailing pet, to
another facing bankruptcy, to the someone praying for an "A" on
their finals, and another asking for understanding in their family, and
another still, fearing for their personal safety. Whether it's a
precise request or a broad one, studies show that prayer works. The
newest evidence shows that the nuances of prayer can create varying levels
of accomplishment all within the genre of successful results -with some
prayers being even more successful than others. This is not linked
to any particular religion or creed, or worthiness of request or requestee,
but moreover, it seems that those who leave room in their prayers
for God to work magic (as opposed to trying to direct God's results),
often see the greatest results.
Use the power of prayer to help you feel more at peace. When we are
each at peace, then we can be empowered. What you decide to do
with that empowerment is up to you... You might send peace and
prayers out for everyone involved. You might pray for the leaders of
the world to act in line with The Highest and The Best for all beings
concerned. You might visualize waves of peace and Higher
Understanding washing over us and uniting us all. You might
pray for healing for all those affected. Any of these would be
wonderful gifts to give not only yourself, but to the rest of the world
community as well.

Why are some people psychic and others not?
the morning walking club
The answer is simple. Balance.
We need all kinds of folks on all different levels to help make the world
go round. Think about it, why are some people artistic while
others are not? Why are some folks great cooks while others are unable to
boil water? Why are some people tremendous athletes? Or
wonderful writers? Why are some people left handed and others
right handed? Why is it that some folks can sing brilliantly, while
others, despite all their heartfelt desire, can barely carry the most
marginal of tunes?
We are all born with intuition, but as we age, the veil slips down more
firmly for some than others. Without regular practice on the
intuitive "muscles", they atrophy and disappear as we leave
childhood behind. Some psychics require little to no practice in order to
maintain it because they are naturals; others require regular exercises
and pursuits of study; and for others--despite all earnest
efforts--sometimes the best one is able to muster is a few off key notes.
Find what you are naturally good at and be proud. We need all degrees,
nuances and measures for balance here on earth.

What is the one main thing a person can do
to improve their communicating with their guides?
Two words: Pay attention! Suspend
your linear mind as best you can, and raise your awareness to the things
happening all around you. Guides are governed by their own set of
Universal Laws. If you make a request, they must respond. Keep
it simple and ask for help with one thing at time. Then pay attention to
what's going on around you, especially the synchronistic things.
Remember, guides support us, they don't control us.

Over 3 and a half years ago I dealt with an
episode of cancer. Since then, I have been well, and undergoing a
truly beautiful spiritual awakening. I feel completely different about so
many things, and have been choosing more spiritual paths. Recently, I was
diagnosed with another suspicious mass. I am getting enormous
pressure from my family and doctor to undergo the same invasive, toxic,
radical treatment I used before. I know my family loves me, but they
are not hearing me. I would like to use alternative avenues for
treatment instead. My family is really upset, and I feel confused
and conflicted. Their pressure is beginning to get to me.
For some time now in our society, Eastern
philosophies and ideas have been pitted against Western ones when it comes
to medicine. It's been a real tug of war, with no clear winners, and
plenty of casualties. The word "alternative" when applied
to medicine, lifestyle, etc. has been given an negative, and even
fanatical vibration at times. Consumers have been made to feel
that choosing one path of care is completely exclusionary to another.
You and you alone have domain over your body. You are as unique as your
own DNA. You have free will, and plenty of choices...so why not feel
free to pick and choose from it all? God put a lot of choices down here,
numerous pathways to walk and examine. Why we should feel forced to choose
only one is quite a mystery.
I am a big fan of the emerging concept of "integrated or
complimentary medicine." This means being free to pick and choose
from all sides of the fence simultaneously, and to create a whole health
plan based on your individual needs. For example, this could
mean a combination of spiritual, surgical, dietary, botanical and chemical
options. I suggest that you talk with your family and create a plan
of action based on taking the best from all sides and then doing what
feels right to you.
Your family's real concern comes from their fear of losing you.
Perhaps you could enlist their help with quickly researching MANY options,
and have them work as your assistants, and team members as you create your
own individualized plan. By including them in this bigger picture
you can choose to use the illness as an opportunity for building a bridge
of education, respect and understanding. It is common for us
to fear what is unknown, and in a crisis situation, many choose to stick
with what they know or what seems easiest. But this may or may not
always be the best solution. I hope you can stay open to this dialogue and
understanding as you make your journey. Abundant good health to you

I work in a large office and am having
trouble with a coworker "T". This person sits near me and
is constantly complaining, negative and needy. They don't have any other
friends in the office, so when "T" gravitates towards me I
am at a loss as to what to do. I have recently been able to make the
connection that I actually feel physically drained by this person from our
interactions. Since I cannot avoid "T" entirely, what can
I do to protect myself from feeling so depleted by their constant
neediness and negativity?
The person you described is actually a type
of "energy vampire"--because left to their own insatiable
needs, these individuals will inadvertently suck every last drop of energy
and enthusiasm from those around them. They are here to teach the
rest of us important lessons about boundaries. Typically,
someone like this has no bottom to their need, and has no idea
that they are draining the life out of the rest of us.
Reclaim your space there with some empowering cleansing rituals. Get
a spray bottle and fill it with water and 3-5 drops of a nice essential
oil like lavender and equal drops of rubbing alcohol (which disperses the
oil.) Spray it to change the vibe when you first get there,
throughout the day, after your break, and post encounters. If others
in the office protest to the use of scents, use some flower essences which
have no odor (like Dr. Bach's Walnut, Crab Apple and Chestnut Bud
essences) to cleanse the air.
Another approach would be to try and speak with them. If you find it
impossible to be lovingly direct, or even kiddingly direct ( "Whoa T!
You are sucking the life out of me!" said laughingly as you get back
to work), then have a few pat phrases that you repeat over and over again
as you keep busy, like "hi T, sorry, I don't have time to help
you, I have some projects that must get out. " Or, you can just
be completely silent, without nodding your head, and engaging. When
they pause to ask you why you are so quiet, or why you aren't available
for them you can calmly say "It's just that sometimes I don't think
you really want to hear a solution, you just seem to like rehashing the
problems. And I am making a conscious choice to stay solution
oriented." None of this need be said with anger.
Understanding is a mighty tool. They are unwittingly offering you
the opportunity to exercise and grow your own boundaries. And remember,
"no one can take advantage of you without your permission."

My 5 year old daughter keeps telling me
that she talks to the angels when she sleeps. At first this was cute, but
now I am beginning to worry that she is too obsessed with it. She
has very vivid dreams and nightmares, and also talks in her sleep.
What do you think I should do? thank you,
Relax. From what I can tell, you are
the one obsessing about this, not your daughter.
Everything she is experiencing is normal for kids her age. All of us
visit The Other Side in our sleep, whether we remember it or not.
Take some deep breaths and listen when she is recounting her night stories
to you the next day. You can take comfort in knowing her angels are
working so closely with her, AND you just may learn a few things as well!
