Health
and The Metaphysical Practitioner
by Keith Zang
The world is filling with light. It is doing so because more and more
people are awakening from their slumber of physical delusions and into the
realm of spiritual enlightenment. We are now at an age where information
and tools for the metaphysical practitioner are available almost anywhere
in the world.
Highly energetic items from across the
globe can be ordered and delivered within a week. Specialty stores are
filled with pendulums, stones, herbs, books, CD’s and other items to use
with whatever form of spiritual growth we desire. Teachers of energy
healing, meditation, and ancient ways of thought abound.
Very quickly those that are healed by these
means become teachers as well as advocates for their modality of healing
and enlightenment. There are thousands of people channeling messages from
the spiritual realms each day in the United States alone. Through all this
spiritual activity there are many people becoming wise in the ways of
connecting with spirit, but at the cost of their own health.
Connecting to the spiritual realms is a wonderful way to receive
information, dispel death related fears, and most importantly helping
others to understand there is a whole other realm of existence beyond our
own, and that it is reachable. Healing with life force energy has also
become very popular. Reiki, Healing Touch, and many other forms have
suddenly risen with great popularity. But what most people delving into
these disciplines forget is that each time these techniques are utilized,
there becomes an imbalance in the energy systems of the users.
Matching the vibrational rate of channeled
spiritual entities takes a lot of energy to do so. Each time an energy
healing practitioner helps a person with their touch either in person or
distance, they in turn take on some of the negative energies released in
the healing process as well as deplete some of their own life force
energy. Without replacing this energy, or staying in a highly energized
state on a constant basis, this energy deficit can translate into
unbalance throughout the body and begin to manifest physical as well as
emotional illnesses. So it is important that we as teachers and
practitioners stay well to be able to help the greatest amount of people
and still maintain our health in the process.
I have lived through this issue in my own life and professional practice.
Since 1998 I have utilized Reiki as well as honed my skills channeling and
working with Angels, spirit guides, and loved ones that have crossed over.
Part of my time I have spent in a western medical clinic in a more remote
Native American community that has allowed me to utilize Reiki with
willing community members. Once a week I would organize Reiki clinics
where I might work with as many as 12 clients in a day. As I began to
organize my own practice and retreat center, I also offered distance
healings whereby I would work on approximately 30 people a month above and
beyond in person sessions. I would also channel angelic energies, spirit
guides, and loved ones. So I had a pretty heavy schedule. The mistake I
made, and one that I am finding many others have made as well, is the
assumption because we are doing good work, and also working with healing
energies, that we will be somehow reimbursed for the energy that we use
from ourselves.
After about a year I began to become
afflicted with liver and kidney problems. I had been getting messages that
I needed to exercise more, change my diet, and take better care of myself.
I made moderate attempts at this, but it was not enough. I soon had a cyst
on one kidney and my liver was swollen. As a last resort I went and had
tests done, and there was no cause found. It finally hit home that I had
to take better care of myself. Since then I have worked diligently to keep
my energy level up to contend with the demand that is depleted from me on
a daily basis. Here are some of the techniques I have used that have kept
me in top physical and mental health.
Exercise: This is probably the most essential activity you can do to keep
your energy level up. Whether it be walking, yoga, lifting weights,
swimming, or whatever it is that you like to do….do it! If you don’t
exercise now, you need to start. Even if you can do light exercise as in
walking around the block, light yoga, or water aerobics, it is imperative
that you keep the energy system of the body moving.
Meditate: It is very important to quiet the mind, bring focus into your
life, and give the body a chance to rest and invigorate on many levels.
Throughout the process of working with my spirit guides, the one recurring
message is to meditate every day, even if it is sitting quietly for 5
minutes in the morning and the evening. Dawn and Dusk are the best times.
Regular meditation opens and balances the Chakras which accelerates
spiritual growth and techniques. Meditation is a learned skill and takes
practice. Don’t get discouraged if you have trouble quieting your mind
when you first start meditating. Meditation has been a focal point of many
societies for millennium. There is lots of information available at
meditation centers, in books, CDs and DVDs to help you find the techniques
that resonate best with you.
Diet: Food plays a pivotal role in our health, especially as we
utilize higher vibrational energies. Everything around us vibrates at
different frequencies. This is true of food as well. The closer you can
get to the earth, the higher the vibration of the food. Farmed red meat
and pork has a lower vibration than wild game. White meat and fish,
particularly organically raised as well as blessed has a higher vibration
still. Preferably, a lifestyle that may be considered vegetarian in
nature, grown organically, is ideal. There are countless recipes available
in books and online that can give you unlimited variety. Utilizing
medicinal herbs can replenish chemical deficiencies within the body that
can cause dis-ease. Reducing the amount of caffeine and sugar is
important. Smoking and alcohol usage can greatly diminish your energy
levels and create serious blocks in the body. Getting help with addictions
to these through your guides and angels can be very helpful.
The key to these simple strategies is to practice what we preach. Often
times we are the least likely to follow our own advice. We need to be
models for others to follow. The clients that we work with need someone to
look up to, a goal for them to reach. Being in good health helps us to do
our work better, positively touch more people, and keep our longevity as
light workers. The earth and its people need each and every one of us to
be at the top of our form at this crucial and history making time. God
Bless!
