2008 – The Year of Inspired Living

If you have been longing to make your dreams a reality, this is the year you have been waiting for! The energy of 2008 is a big cosmic wave, and it is sure to be an exciting ride!
We could certainly use the momentum. We all breathed a collective sigh of relief after 2007 ended. It was a rough year for many, but 2008 offers hope for brand new beginnings.
2007 was a 9 universal year, with 9 representing the end of a cycle, in preparation for a new cycle. A new cycle denotes a new way of being; a new phase of creativity and fruition. Just as it takes 9 months to create a baby from gestation to birth, we have 9 year cycles of formation and manifestation.
During a 9 year, we are often compelled to let go what no longer serves us. A weeding out process occurs, so that seeds for new beginnings will be planted in fertile soil. However, last year may people experienced changes that were more severe and dramatic than simply letting go. For many, 2007 was also a time of devastating loss and destruction.
It is difficult to make sense of our life when tragedy happens. And yet there is meaning in even the most painful experiences. For example, illness can force us to examine our physical and emotional choices and help us create lasting healthy habits. In many cases, healing ourselves can give us valuable tools that we can share with others, for additional healing. Even a loss as tragic as death, can lead us on a spiritual and emotional journey, bringing our soul to profound new depths. In fact, many spiritual mediums (those who communicate with our departed loved ones), prior to discovering their psychic gifts, experienced tragic losses that lead them towards their spiritual calling.
This is where 2008 holds great promise! With this new cycle, we begin an exciting new cycle of creation, and we are potent creators. 2008 is a 1 universal year. We derive this by adding all of the year’s numbers and reducing the sum to a single digit: 2+0+0+8=10; 1+0=1.
1 is an intensely powerful number. Its shape further illustrates its purpose. The number 1 is shaped like an antenna, acting as a direct conduit between you and the Creator. It’s a fiery number that lights unexplored paths, like a torch guides us in the dark. The effect of this number is divinely demonstrated in its similar glyph, the letter i. Words beginning with the letter “i” emanate light and creation such as in the words illuminate, invent, innovate, intuition, insight, imagination, illustration, ingenuity, individuality, and heck – even the ipod!
This energy is received through the crown chakra at the top of the head where we connect to Spirit. When we have sudden flashes of inspiration and sparkling ideas, we quite literally are being infused with spiritual force. Not surprisingly, the words infusion, idea, and inspiration are all “i” words. Incredible! The true meaning of the word inspiration is revealed upon closer look; In-Spirit.
Living in-spirit means we are allowing ourselves to let the light and power of the Creator work through us for the greater good of all. That’s why it feels so good to be inspired! When we connect to our passions and express our true selves, we are truly manifesting our divine purpose.
And yet there is a challenge to this energy. 1 is a number of first, and therefore no one else has traveled on the path you are forging. It can feel very uncomfortable to take chances, to be unique, and to change the way people perceive you. And let’s face it, our society doesn’t usually celebrate artistic endeavors, or going against the grain. But rest assured, the Universe is not only supporting you, it is giving you marching orders!
Now is the time to make positive changes towards fulfilling your purpose. The 1 energy carries a great deal of momentum, like a rushing river after a spring thaw. It will carry you.
If ever you wanted to do something to make your life better, if you have a passion buried deep within you, or a longing that doesn’t dissipate, you must find a way to express it. You are divinity made flesh, and carry the divine spark within you. It is time to let your inner light shine brightly and radiate, for all in the world to enjoy. And couldn’t we all use a little bit more sunshine now?
So please, make this year a time to create the life you love. It doesn’t matter if you do not know what your purpose is, or even what your passions are, so long as you make steps to improve your life. If you want to start a business, change careers, pursue a craft, attract the love of your life, buy a home, or take a trip around the world; now is the time to make your dreams a reality. Your passions will lead you to your purpose, and you absolutely cannot go wrong.
