The
Realization of Health in Body, Mind and Spirit: An Interview with Nancy Risley
by Carol Bedrosian
Nancy Risley, RPP (Registered Polarity Practitioner) founded the
Polarity Realization Institute in 1980 as a school to train professional
bodyworkers and polarity therapists. The Institute currently has four New
England locations: Ipswich, MA, Plymouth, MA and Portland, ME. The
fourth and newest location in Westboro, MA is a spacious, multi-room
rental, prominently situated between the Outback Steakhouse and Hoyt's
Cinema 14 in a newly-built commercial plaza off Route 9. Graced with PRI's
soothing, mandala-like logo set off by strong, bold lettering, the large
blue and white sign above the door is impossible for the eye to avoid:
Polarity Realization Institute --Holistic Career Education. For the
hundreds of patrons that visit the steakhouse each day, the sigh next door
sends a subtle , yet subconscious signal that holistic healthcare is here
to stay.
I was impressed by the courage and vision
of the school's founder who would choose to plant herself so boldly in
midst of modern Americana, with every intention that this fourth location
would be just as successful as the other three. Obtaining a copy of
Nancy's new book R.Y.S.E.: Tools for Life Holding Your
Personal Power and Lifeforce, I found myself resonating with what I
read and called for an interview to learn more. Nancy spoke articulately
about the new concepts of spirituality and energy being introduced into
our healthcare world and how this gives hope for the possibility of
healing in the world at large.

Visions: Premature Birth
by
Cyma Shapiro-Roland
"I tell my story for a few reasons: if ever a person could
question whether birth experiences set the tone for life, this story
tells it all. If ever one's daily experiences and relationships could
be traced to early experiences, this too, states it plainly. And if
ever one should question "soul" experiences, I am sure this
one falls right into place."

Making
Peace with My Body
by Johannne Arnemann
"As I sat watching the sun fade over the
marsh, my inner voice broke the silence saying, "Love your body. Tell
it you love it." This was a totally new perspective! Right then and
there I told it I loved it over and over again in a soft voice, like a
mother comforting a small child. It felt wonderful. It felt right. The war
was ending."

OfSpirit.com's
Recommended Book |
by Lama Surya Das
Price: $20.00
|
Surya
Das's breezy delivery makes his teachings come off like colorful
conversation. In the third installment of his bestselling
"Awakening" series, America's most popular lama shows us
how to integrate inner and outer practices. Our inner spirituality,
he says, can never be separate from our relationships with others.
With his trademark clarity, he integrates his teachings with light-
hearted anecdotes and down-to-earth practices. Basic meditation, for
instance, can help us create a gap between our knee-jerk judgments
and our reactions, allowing for calm, wise relations. Likewise, one
can try authentic listening ("opening the third ear") or
exploiting the power of speech to build deeper connections. And
beyond human relations lies our connection to the natural world, for
which Surya Das also includes a few lovely meditations. Taking that
extra step in our practice from the self to the world requires more
than just individual persistence, it takes compassion and teaches
more than you'd expect. - Brian Bruya (Amazon.com Reviewer).

What Is Your Healthiest Season?
|
Joesphine
Worcester, MA
|
"I
would have to say both Spring and Summer. I'm healthier because I
get out of the house more often. I take walks and, generally, just
get more exercise with the added activity that I don't get in the
colder seasons." |
Marta
Princeton, MA
|
"I'd
say Winter, because the cold kills the germs. And when you breath
that crisp fresh air, you can feel it cleanse your lungs." |
Kelsie
Windsor , VT
|
"I
feel healthiest in the Fall. I can take walks in the woods without
the trails being muddy. It's also the best time to go horseback
riding. You don't have to wear a lot of layers yet, so you can still
feel the sun without the air being too hot or too cold." |

15: Contact the Spirit World |
| "Lessons In The Light"
with Dr. Vicki Monroe: Lecture, Questions & Random Audience Readings
Vicki Monroe is the subject of
Bob Olson's article, Medium Rare: The Skeptic And The Psychic,
published in the Jan/Feb issue of Spirit of Change Magazine.
Imagine yourself
in the ballroom of an old Kennebunkport resort that is lighted
entirely by candles. The ocean breeze enters the room through the
oversized windows overlooking the water. The candle flames dance and your heart
begins to pound. Tonight is not just another
lecture about the after-life, but rather an interactive experience
that will forever change your life. Spirit messenger, Vicki Monroe,
enters the front of the room to answer the questions most people
have about her gift and the insight she has gained from it. As she
overlooks the audience, she isnt just seeing the guests; she also
sees the spirits who guide these guests day by day. Tonight, your
spirit-guides have come hoping to be chosen by Vicki to communicate
the messages they have for you. As the evening progresses, the
summer sun will fade; but your heart will lighten from the lessons
you will learn.
June
15th, 7:00 to 9:00 P.M., Nonantum Resort, Kennebunkport, Maine.
Limited seating is only
$65 pre-registration required (credit cards accepted). Pre-register today as seating is booking
fast! 207-499-0067, or visit www.vickimonroe.com,
