Reclaiming Your Self-Worth
NEW!
by Amy Hale
How comfortable are you with your self-worth? Self-worth is important to the ultimate happiness you feel in your life because it is deeply tied into your ability to attain your desires.
In order to move forward with your desires, you need perseverance. So why do we sometimes give up so easily? Many of us feel that there are not enough hours in the day to pursue our dreams or we live in an environment that seems so far away from what we truly want. Are these just excuses? Who or what do we hide behind in order to stay in our comfort zone? Being comfortable doesn’t mean we’re happy where we currently are. It could be that we are afraid to step out of our comfort zone because we haven’t learned to trust ourselves in creating and allowing our desires to come to fruition. This process may seem difficult at first, but it does get easier as you move into a better state of mind.

The Perception--Well-being Connection
by Kimmie Smith
Our own perception of the world and those we're personally involved with stems from our childhood. If you grew up with one or more parent(s) who displayed constant anxiety, worry, anger, etc., then you have most likely adopted that same behavior as an adult. Some people eventually recognize this in themselves and some never do. And even when the ones that do recognize this in themselves they tend to just accept that behavior as "who they are." They might try, through various methods, to rid themselves of this unwanted negative behavior only to wind up frustrated when something triggers a certain emotion and they find it hasn't really left. So they give up and just accept that this is who they are and that change is impossible. Maybe they are still hearing the message that has been given to them over a lifetime, "Oh,
that's just they way you've always been, that's your personality and you'll never change." They then decide that they are comfortable this way and fear any kind of change, even if it would mean a positive change.

Fundamentals of the Mind
The human mind may be subdivided into three parts: the Unconscious,
Subconscious and Conscious. These compare to a computer:
Unconscious = operating system
Subconscious = hard drive
Conscious = RAM
Each part has separate and distinct tasks.

Pain Management Without Drugs
by Ron Eslinger
THE LEG I DIDN'T HAVE JUST KEPT ON HURTING
"I don't know how this works, but it does." Those were the words
of Bill twelve weeks after his first visit to Healthy Visions Wellness
Center where hypnosis was used to teach Bill how to control his Phantom
Limb Pain. Prior to this, Bill was taking pain medicine two to three times
a week. Sometimes the pain was so unbearable that he went to the emergency
room for intravenous pain medication.

Stories
Of Reincarnation
by Jenny Smedley
What does reincarnation mean? There are many belief systems based around
the theory that when our physical bodies die, our souls do not end, or go
to be judged by a harsh God, but that instead we are reborn in another
body, to learn more lessons. Jesus did endorse this belief. ‘Souls are
poured from one into another of different kinds of bodies of the world’
(Jesus – Gnostics. The Gnostics are scriptures that were unearthed
accidentally in 1945 by a peasant digging for fertilizer at a place in the
Egyptian desert called Nag Hammadi. There were fifty-two separate text
written in Coptic, an ancient language translated from the Greek, some of
which may have been composed a generation before the first gospel was
authored in AD 70.)

The Out-of-Body Experience
by David Lindsay
Numerous surveys and anecdotal studies report that people all over the world are having lucid experiences outside their physical bodies. The out-of-body experience, also known as astral travel or astral projection, is a natural phenomenon that everyone experiences nightly during sleep, although very few ever become aware of it. Despite being so little understood, it offers unrivalled potential as a vehicle for us to obtain answers to fundamental existential questions such as: what happens when we die, what is our purpose in life, and what is the meaning of existence?

The Natural
Way to Stop Smoking
While I was in the Army, a friend of mine tried to stop smoking. One day
we went on a two mile run. As we ran he began to talk about everything he
was doing to stop smoking. He pulled his sleeve up and showed me his
patch. At the halfway point he began chewing the gum. When we reached the
end he stopped and lit a up a Camel. I could not help but to ask, “And,
it’s working”? He took a very long hard look at me then asked, “Does
it look like it to you?”

Kabbalah of Love

Intimate Love.
What feelings do these words stir up in you? Longing? Excitement?
Pleasure? Fear?
Whatever the feeling, if thinking about intimate love makes your heart
beat faster, I’m not surprised. This feeling is more powerful than
almost any we can experience. That’s because it’s nothing less than
the touching of two souls.

The Reincarnation Of Paul Gauguin?
by Michelle Moshay
Peter Teekamp is an artist and near-death experiencer living in Washington state who accidentally discovered a drawing that might be worth millions of dollars. He believes the drawing to be an original artwork by the famous 19th century post-impressionist artist Paul Gauguin. He discovered the drawing hanging on the wall of a restaurant which he visited by pure chance. Coincidentally, Teekamp happened to be writing a book about Gauguin at the time. Having studied Gauguin for many years, Teekamp knew a Gauguin when he saw one. Eventually he bought the drawing from its owner for $5,000. After further examination and an ugly court battle with its previous owner, Teekamp gathered evidence to support the claim that it is indeed an original Gauguin. Forensic experts are needed to prove the age of the drawing and examine the evidence.

Self Hypnosis or Shelf Hypnosis?
by Richard Blumenthal
Self hypnosis is usually thought of as a person listening to an audio
tape, mp3, or other mass-produced media, intended to induce a willingness
to absorb suggestions centered around a specific topic such as weight
loss, stop smoking, etc. Unfortunately, this kind of hypnosis is generally
prepared by someone who has never met the person being hypnotized, often
presenting unwanted, even unpleasant imagery and suggestions. For example,
if you sunburn easily, that last thing you want to hear about is a slow
walk on a sunny beach. In this case, the "self" in self hypnosis
simply means that you listen to it by yourself!

The Spirit World: Experiencing My Life Between Lives In A Spiritual
Regression
by Bob Olson, OfSpirit.com Editor
Eighteen months ago, I had an outstanding
past-life regression. My session was so compelling that numerous people
who read my article about it have traveled
across the globe to have the same life-changing experience. But there was
something about my session that I did not reveal in that article. What I
held back was too sacred and personal to translate into words, and I
needed time to contemplate it before sharing it with others.

Power Your Affirmations With Feeling

you affirming abundance, but believe you have to struggle to make ends
meet? Do you affirm ease, but expect obstacles in your path? Do you want
appreciation, but anticipate criticism? When you state an affirmation,
it's the feeling behind it that counts.

Cried, Shivered And Shook!
The Physical, Emotional And Psychological Impact Of A Successful Past-Life
Regression
by Bob Olson, OfSpirit.com Editor
If you’re like me, you either
don’t believe in past-life regression or you simply don’t believe that
you can do it. Three years
ago, I would have fallen under the category of full-blown nonbeliever.
Today, after researching spiritual phenomenon for three years, I have no
doubts that other people can achieve hypnotic regression to a past life; I
just don’t believe I can
do it. At least that was my story until recently, after experiencing a
successful past-life regression of my own.

How
Tarot And Visualization Helped One Woman Achieve Her Dream
by Bob Olson, OfSpirit.com Editor
Cathy Levine, owner of
Circles of Wisdom in Andover, wasn’t always the spiritual-seeking owner
of a metaphysical store; she used to work as an actuary at an insurance
company. Technical finances, numbers and spreadsheets were her thing—not
energy, crystals and aromatherapy. But that began to change the day Cathy
had her first tarot card reading.

Messages From the Masters: Tapping into
the Power of Love
The Beginning
by Brian L. Weiss, M.D.
Our task is to learn, to become God-like through knowledge. We know so
little. . . . By knowledge we approach God, and then we can rest. Then we
come back to teach and help others.
For those of you meeting me for the first time, a few words of
introduction are needed. I have come a long way from that fateful day when
I, a classically trained physician, professor of psychiatry, and confirmed
skeptic, realized that human life is grander and more profound than even
my rigorous medical training had led me to believe.

"Will
I Cluck Like a Chicken?": Myths and Misconceptions About Clinical Hypnosis
by Dr. Rick Voit
Many times I have been at a social gathering
where I am asked what I do for a living. The answer, "I'm a
psychologist," is often received with a tense smile and an "oh, geez,
I better watch what I say." I will usually respond that "my meter is
not running" and assure them they can relax. When people learn that I
specialize in hypnotherapy, they seem to experience a genuine curiosity, but I
suspect, a belief that I am, in some way, strange.

Hypnosis is Self Hypnosis
by Lia Maria Salciccia
Hypnosis and hypnotherapy have the
unfortunate reputation as being forms of mind control. This is partly due
to the history of modern hypnosis, which began with a man named Anton
Mesmer, who moved magnets through people's energy fields and achieved
great success in healing people of all sorts of maladies. Mesmer, who went
from being one of the most celebrated figures of Paris to being an
outcast. He was investigated by a panel of Scientists and Academics who
decreed his animal magnetism theory to be bogus. He died poor and ruined.

What's Hard To Find, But Always With You?
by Richard Blumenthal
To create a wonderful life, you first need
to make a choice: will you use your thinking to help yourself to the
happy, fulfilling life you wish for, or will you allow the often
haphazard, random ideas we gather over time to non-consciously run your
life for you? What you think leads directly to feelings and actions. Think
in one direction, you will feel and act accordingly. Think differently,
your feelings and actions will be different. Those thoughts are powerful,
aren't they? The only trouble is, ideas can become so ingrained that we
don't even need to be aware for them to exert instant control over us.

Are Hypnosis-Assisted Birth

Every woman has a unique history that will have an impact on
her experience of pregnancy, birth and parenting. In many cases, a woman's
history needs special attention in the process of preparing for birth so
that her issues and dynamics do not impede the birthing process. In our
culture, preparation for childbirth is a ritual in and of itself.
